This week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate was in recess.

 

House: The House passed a bill to continue funding the government through December 11. They also passed the Protecting Domestic Mining Act (H.R.1501), the Northeast Lobsterman Protection Act (H.R.9436), the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act (H.R.4795), and H.Res.1490, a resolution condemning and denouncing socialism.

 

Trump Administration:  President Trump signed the government funding bill into law, funding the government until December 11. On August 31, President Trump announced deals with nine mid-size pharmaceutical manufactures to reduce the price of prescription drugs as part of his Most Favored Nation policy.
