Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations.

 

House: The House was in recess.

 

Trump Administration: On July 31, President Trump signed an Executive Order adjusting the tariff rates ahead of the August 1 deadline. The tariff rates from Annex I countries range from 10 percent to 41 percent and for all countries not listed in Annex I the rate will remain at the 10 percent baseline tariff.

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate is scheduled to be in recess however they could remain in session to continue processing nominations and consider Fiscal Year 2026 funding bills.

 

House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Tuesday, September 2.
