Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations.
House: The House agreed to concur with the Senate amendment to the government funding package providing funding for the remainder of FY 2026 for the following: Defense, Labor, HHS, Treasury, Education, State, Transportation, HUD, other agencies/federal entities including the White House and DC; as well as funding through February 13 for the Department of Homeland Security. They passed Joint Resolution H.J.Res.142, disproving of actions of the Washington D.C. Council rule changing how income and franchise tax law align with the federal Internal Revenue Code and the Critical Mineral Dominance Act (H.R.4090).
Trump Administration: On February 5, President Trump announced the launch of TrumpRx.gov. The platform will allow patients to access some of the most common, high-cost drugs at largely discounted prices, matching in line with the lowest prices paid by other developed nations. He signed the government funding package into law.
