Susan B. Hirschmann
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Susan Hirschmann leads the bipartisan team at Williams & Jensen, where she has served as the firm’s CEO since 2015 and Chairman since 2018. Since joining the firm in 2002, Susan has earned a reputation as one of Capitol Hill’s most effective and strategic lobbyists by advising clients on how to win.
Her track record of helping clients achieve successful outcomes on their issues covers a full range of policy areas, including health care, taxation, financial services, energy, transportation, and appropriations. As one client characterized her, and others continue to echo, there is no one better at “snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat."
Prior to joining Williams & Jensen, Susan was Chief of Staff to the Majority Whip of the House of Representatives. During her time working for House Leadership, she worked with Congress and the White House to develop and execute strategy on major trade, health care, and tax issues. This experience gave her an intimate understanding of and ability to advise clients on the intricacy of the inner workings of the Hill.
Susan has been recognized for her achievements in D.C. and has also recognized her for work to support and mentor women in their careers, both on and off of Capitol Hill. In 2016, she was featured in a story in The Atlantic, who published a profile piece on women lobbyists who were “breaking glass and taking charge on K Street” leading up to the release of the movie about a fierce DC lobbyist, “Miss Sloane.” She also served as one of three U.S. delegates to the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women in 2005, and authorized an essay published in Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy Institute of Politics’ book, Skirting Tradition: Women in Politics Speak to the Next Generation, while serving as a visiting fellow.
