Jeanne Haggerty
PRINCIPAL
Haggerty brings in-depth policy knowledge from 25 years of governmental affairs experience in Washington. Haggerty’s successful career on the hill included working on the Senate Finance Committee, and later, the House Energy and Commerce Committee. During this time, she built strong relationships on the Hill as well as knowledge in a wide variety of policy areas. In 2006, Haggerty began working at Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) as the House Republican lobbyist. During her 15 years at BIO, she served as the Senior Vice President for Federal Government Relations and eventually Executive Vice President of External Relations.. Haggerty attended the University of Vermont and received a B.A. in Political Science and English.Â

While on the Hill, Haggerty was involved in the creation and passage of the Medicare Modernization Act, and the Deficit Reduction Act, which revamped how Medicaid pays for prescription drugs. She also worked on legislation to reauthorize the National Institutes of Health and the Ryan White CARE Act.

​During her tenure at BIO, Haggerty developed and executed federal and state lobbying strategies, utilizing grassroots campaigns, media, and alliance outreach on numerous legislative efforts, including the Inflation Reduction Act, 21st Century Cures, FDA Reauthorization Act, America Invents Act, Affordable Care Act, and the SUPPORT Act. Haggerty also worked to grow the association through new membership, built coalitions, and worked closely with an array of business leadership from Fortune 500 companies to small start-ups, as well as with the investment community including banks, venture capitalists, and the VC arms of large corporations.
