This Week in Congress


Senate: The Senate began the confirmation process for President Trump’s cabinet picks by holding hearings with nominees.

 

House:  The House was in session and organized Committees for the 119th Congress.

 

Biden Administration: In their final week, the Biden Administration was busy issuing several rules. The rules include the next 15 drugs selected for Medicare Drug Price Negotiations, a Food and Drug Administration ban of red dye 40, limiting drilling in Alaska’s National Petroleum Reserve, and a proposed change to the de minimis import process.


Next Week in Congress

 

Senate: The Senate is expected to continue processing President Trump’s cabinet nominations.

 

House:  The House is expected to consider the Fix Our Forests Act (H.R.417)

 

Trump Administration: On January 20, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States. He is expected to sign a significant number of Executive Orders on Day One and potentially in the days immediately following.
