Senate:Â The Senate continued processing nominations including Ambassador to France and Monaco. They passed Congressional Review Acts (CRA) S.J.Res. 55 to rescind the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's rule specifying performance requirements for all motor vehicles that use hydrogen as a fuel source and H.J.Res.88, H.J.Res.87, and H.J.Res.89 to rescind the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules granting a federal waiver to California to ban gasoline-powered cars by 2035.
House: The House passed the FY25 budget reconciliation bill, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R.1). They passed CRAs S.J. Res. 13 to rescind the Department of Treasury rule revising procedures for reviewing applications for proposed bank mergers and S.J. Res. 31 to rescind the EPA rule requiring sources of persistent and bioaccumulative hazardous air pollutants to continue to comply with certain major source emission standards.
Trump Administration: On May 19, President Trump signed P.L.119-12, the Take it Down Act, into law. The law will require criminal prohibition on intentional disclosure of nonconsensual intimate visual depictions and will require platforms to remove these depictions.Â
