Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations. They passed Congressional Review Act H.J.Res.131, to rescind a Bureau of Land Management rule to manage oil and gas development in the Coastal Plain.

 

House: The House passed the Combating the Lies of Authoritarians in School Systems Act (H.R.1005), the PROTECT Our Kids Act (H.R.1069), the Transparency in Reporting of Adversarial Contributions to Education Act (H.R.1049), the Small Business Regulatory Reduction Act of 2025 (H.R.2965), and the DUMP Red Tape Act (H.R.4305).

 

Trump Administration:  On December 1, President Trump signed the SUPPORT for Patients and Communications Reauthorization Act (P.L.119-44) into law. The law will reauthorize programs for substance use disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery.  

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, December 8 and is expected to continue processing nominations including the next en bloc package of nominees.

 

House: The House is in session and will reconvene Tuesday, December 9.
