Trump Administration: On September 8, President Trump signed five Proclamations to ban certain products from Canada and modify the scope of tariffs on certain Canadian goods. The tariffs will go into effect on September 29th.
Next week in Washington
Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, September 14. They are expected to continue processing nominations and consideration of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
House: The House will reconvene Monday, September 14 and is expected to consider the National Fraud Enforcement Division Act (H.R.9576), the Protecting Taxpayers from Health Care Fraudsters Act (H.R. ), the Preventing Rip-offs and Obtaining Oversight of Funds Act (H.R.10326), and Congressional Review Acts H.J.Res. 210 and H.J.Res.213 to overturn Environmental Protection Agency rules on nonroad engine pollution control standards in California. They could also consider the Senate-passed Russian sanctions bill.
