Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations including Judges for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information, Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Crimes, Administrator of Drug Enforcement, Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, Under Secretary of the Air Force, and Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

 

House: The House was in session.

 

Trump Administration: On July 23, president Trump signed an Executive Order intitled “Promoting the Export of the American AI Technology Stack.” The Order directs the Secretary of Commerce to develop the American AI Exports Program to support the deployment of U.S. full-stack AI export packages.

 

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene on Monday, July 28 and is expected to continue processing nominations including Circuit Judge for the Third Circuit, Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Memorial Affairs, Member of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, General Counsel of the Department of Defense, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, and Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They could also continue consideration of H.R.3944, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.


House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Tuesday, September 2.
