This week in Washington 

Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations.

House: The House passed the Stop Insider Trading Act (H.R.7008), the Main Street Capital Access Act (H.R.6955), the FY27 NDAA (H.R.8800), the Removing Barriers to Work for Disabled Americans Act (H.R.8884), and a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through December 4. They also passed the FY27 Budget Resolution and a War Powers Resolution on the War in Iran.

Trump Administration: On July 23, the Trump Administration announced Actions by the United States in the Investigations under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 of the Acts, Policies, and Practices of 60 Economies Related to the Failure of Each Economy to Impose and Effectively Enforce a Prohibition on the Importation of Goods Produced with Forced Labor. Section 301 tariffs will replace the expiring Section 122 tariffs with a 10 percent tariff applied to trading partners that have adopted and attempted to enforce a forced labor import prohibition, and 12.5 percent to trading partners that have failed to take such steps.

Next week in Washington 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, July 27, and is expected to continue processing nominations, including Jay Clayton to be Director of National Intelligence. They may take up a bill to impose additional Russian sanctions, a bill originally introduced by (deceased) Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and the House-passed Continuing Resolution to fund the government through December 4.

House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Monday, August 31.
