Senate: The Senate was in recess.
House: The House was in recess.
Trump Administration: On July 9, President Trump signed a Proclamation entitled, Adjusting Imports of Commercial Aircraft, Jet Engines, and Aircraft and Engine Parts into the United States. The Proclamation directs the Secretary of Commerce and Trade Representative under Section 232 to negotiate with trading partners on commercial aircraft, jet engines, and their respective parts. The bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (H.R.6644) will become law on July 11 unless President Trump vetoes the bill.
Next week in Washington
Senate: The Senate is in recess and will reconvene Monday, July 13. They are expected to continue processing nominations and begin consideration of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (S.4784).
House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Monday, July 13. They are expected to consider the FY27 Nation Security, Department of State, and Related Programs government funding bill (H.R.8595), the Sunshine Protection Act (H.R.139), the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (H.R.9237), and the Protecting Privacy in Purchases Act (H.R.1181).
