This week in Washington 

Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations. They failed to consider FISA, making it likely the Act will expire on June 12 at midnight. 

 

House: The House passed the Fraud Prevention and Accountability Act (H.R.8312), the Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act (H.R.8464), and H.Res.1335 to condemn fraud against the federal government. The House also passed the reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP. 

 

Trump Administration:  On June 11, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled “Restoring American Commercial Fishing in the Pacific.” The Order removes restrictions on fishing to increase domestic production, decrease prices, and support American jobs. President Trump signed the reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP into law. 

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, June 15, and is expected to continue processing nominations. 

 

House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Tuesday, June 23.
