This week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations and passed S.2, the Secure America Act to fund ICE and CBP following a vote-a-rama. They failed to take procedural steps to consider the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. 

 

House: The House passed the Stop Child Care Scams Act (H.R.7726) and the Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration government funding bill (H.R.8646). They passed a War Powers Resolution on Iran and the Ukraine Support Act (H.R.2913). 

 

Trump Administration:  On June 2, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled Promoting Advance Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security. The Order aims to advance artificial intelligence innovation, strengthen cybersecurity, protect critical infrastructure, and ensure the U.S.’ position as the global leader in artificial intelligence.

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, June 8 and is expected to continue processing nominations. 

 

House: The House will reconvene Monday, June 8. They are expected to consider the Fraud Prevention and Accountability Act (H.R.8312), the Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act (H.R.8464), and H.Res.1335 to condemn fraud against the federal government. The House is also expected to consider the Secure America Act.
