This week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate was in recess.

 

House: The House was in recess.

 

Trump Administration:  On May 28 President Trump signed H.R.3497, the “Medal of Sacrifice Act” into law. The new law establishes a Medal of Sacrifice to honor eligible law enforcement and first responders killed in the line of duty.   

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, June 1. They are expected to continue processing nominations and the reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP.

 

House: The House is in session and will reconvene Wednesday, June 3. They are expected to consider the Preventing Waste, Fraud, and Abuse in TANF Act (H.R.8872), the No Aid for Ghost Students Act (H.R.7892), the Stop Child Care Scams Act (H.R.7726), the Endangered Species Act Amendments Act (H.R.1897), and the Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food and Drug Administration government funding bill (H.R.8646).
