This week in Washington

 

Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations including confirmation of 49 Executive Branch and judicial nominees, en bloc through S.Res. 690 and passed a War Powers Resolution on the War in Iran. They failed to take the next steps to process the reconciliation bill to fund ICE and CBP due to a lack of consensus on White House ballroom funding and the $1.8 billion compensation fund.

 

House: The House passed the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act (H.R.1041) and the Sharri Bailey and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act (H.R.6047). They also passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, as amendment (H.Res.1299).


Trump Administration:  On May 18, President Trump announced an expansion of his Direct-to-Consumer platform, TrumpRx. The expansion includes an additional 600 generic medications added to the platform.  

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate is in recess and will reconvene Monday, June 1. They are expected to continue processing nominations and the reconciliation bill. 

 

House: The House is in recess and will reconvene Tuesday, June 2.
