Senate: The Senate was in recess.  

 

House: The House was in recess.

 

Trump Administration:  On May 4, President Trump signed S.723, the Tribal Trust Land Homeownership Act, into law. The new law establishes deadlines for the Bureau of Indian Affairs to process leasehold mortgages on trust or restricted Tribal land.

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate will reconvene Monday, May 11. They are expected to continue processing nominations, including confirmation of 49 Executive Branch and judicial nominees en bloc through S.Res. 690, and begin the next steps in the reconciliation process.

 

House: The House will reconvene Tuesday, May 12.
