Senate: The Senate continued processing nominations and began consideration of the SAVE America Act (S.1383). They failed to pass the Department of Homeland Security government funding bill.

 

House: The House passed the Deporting Fraudsters Act (H.R.1958), the BOWOW Act (H.R.4638), and the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act (H.R.556).

 

Trump Administration:  On March 16, President Trump signed an Executive Order entitled Establishing the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.” The task force will advise President Trump on government-wide efforts to combat widespread fraud, waste, and abuse in federal benefit programs. It will be chaired by Vice President JD Vance.

 

Next week in Washington 

 

Senate: The Senate could stay in through the weekend to continue consideration of the SAVE America Act. They are expected to consider the government funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security.

 

House: The House will reconvene on Tuesday, March 24.
