Hon. Kurt Schrader

PRINCIPAL

Schrader has dedicated over 25 years to public service, demonstrating dedication and leadership on policy issues. Prior to joining Williams & Jensen, Schrader served in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. Through serving seven terms in Congress, he gained extensive expertise, specifically in areas of medical innovation, health care, and animal health. As a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, he additionally developed ample knowledge in energy, agriculture, conservation, telecommunication, and international trade.


During his time in Congress, he served on the House Committee on Agriculture, where he served on the Farm Bill Conference Committee, the House Committee on Small Business, and the House Budget Committee. He was a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, the New Democrat Coalition, and the Problem Solvers Caucus, the only bipartisan working group in the House, showcasing his broad perspective and collaborative mindset. As a member of Congress, he was a leader, working with his peers, on getting the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill passed into law and ensuring it stayed bipartisan.


Before his congressional membership, Schrader served in the Oregon state House and Senate, in which he co-chaired the Joint Ways and Means Committee in 2003 and 2008. He demonstrates a wide breadth of knowledge as he previously worked as a farmer and veterinarian for more than thirty years, bringing firsthand experience with animal health and agriculture.

He has a BA in Government from Cornell University.
