Patrick Pettey joined Williams & Jensen in 2002. Mr. Pettey concentrates his practice on environmental, energy, natural resources, nuclear, and transportation issues, representing client interests in legislative and regulatory matters associated with these areas.
Professional background: Before joining Williams & Jensen, Mr. Pettey served as Chief of Staff to Senator Bob Smith (R-NH), Ranking Member of the Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee. In his capacity as Chief of Staff, Mr. Pettey oversaw the legislative, press, and political agendas of Senator Smith's office. Consequently, Mr. Pettey was intimately involved in the management of Senator Smith's legislative priorities on the Environmental and Public Works Committee.
During his tenure, Mr. Pettey was active in a number of important legislative initiatives, including the ongoing reformation of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 (Superfund); the Clean Air Act and its amendments; the Safe Drinking Water Act; and the Clean Water Act. He was also active in the Intermodal Surface Transportation Equity Act (ISTEA) and the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21)
Mr. Pettey managed the 1986 and 1988 House re-election campaigns for Congressman Bob Smith. In 1990, he managed the New Hampshire political campaign to elect Congressman Smith to the U.S. Senate, and subsequently coordinated the 1996 re-election of Senator Smith. |
