Susan B. Hirschmann joined Williams & Jensen as a Principal in 2002 after a career in public service. Reflecting her strong history, network of relationships and client victories, Susan has been named as one of Washington, D.C.s Top Lobbyists by The Hill Newspaper, a Capitol Hill publication.
Professional background: From 1997 to 2002 Susan served as Chief of Staff to Majority Whip of the House of Representatives, where she worked with the House and Senate Leadership to develop strategy and implement legislative victories on major trade, healthcare and tax policies.
During her time on Capitol Hill, Susan was named one of the 100 most highly regarded staffers on Capitol Hill by the newspaper, Roll Call, while Washingtonian magazine listed her as one of the 100 most Powerful Women in Washington.
In addition to her work in the policy arena and as a policy advocate, Susan has been a strong leading voice for a variety of womens issues. In 2002, she served as a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Universitys John F. Kennedy Institute of Politics, and contributed an essay to a book released by Harvards Institute of Politics, Skirting Tradition: Women in Politics Speak to the Next Generation. Susan also served as one of three U.S. delegates to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in 2005. |
