Joyce A. Rogers joined Williams & Jensen as an Associate and became a Principal in 2007. Ms. Rogers represents clients before Congress and the Executive Branch on legislative and regulatory matters. She helps clients understand and navigate the legislative and appropriations process.
Professional background: On Capitol Hill for eight years, Ms. Rogers worked for House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) on a range of legislative issues, including appropriations, education, housing, and environmental issues. She then joined the staff of Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D-FL), senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Chairwoman of the House Railroads Subcommittee, as Legislative Director. In addition to House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee responsibilities, Ms. Rogers managed the Congresswoman's overall legislative agenda.
Before joining Williams & Jensen, Ms. Rogers worked as an Associate and provided legal and legislative counsel to clients at the law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand in Washington, D.C.
In addition, she is a Steering Board member for the Women Under Forty Political Action Committee (WUFPAC), and worked as a Congressional Relations Manager at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Ms. Rogers also volunteered for the Kerry-Edwards Presidential campaign, the Gore-Lieberman Presidential campaign, Clinton-Gore Presidential campaign, and various Congressional and gubernatorial campaigns. In addition, she worked as campaign manager for Congresswoman Corrine Brown's 1992 congressional election.
